What is a kiosk time clock?
A kiosk time clock is a shared device, usually a tablet at the entrance of a site, depot or shop, where employees clock in and out with a personal PIN, badge or other identifier instead of their own phone.
When a kiosk makes sense
Kiosks suit teams where not everyone has a work phone, or where the employer does not want to require personal phones for work: construction crews, warehouses, cleaning teams and production lines. Everyone clocks at the same place, so arrival and departure times are consistent, and the office sees who is on site.
The weak spot of any shared clock is buddy punching: one person clocking in for another. A personal PIN, combined with clear rules and a check against the roster, keeps that in check without biometrics.
The TimeTracking kiosk
TimeTracking turns any tablet into a kiosk. Workers enter their personal PIN to clock in and out. The clock-ins appear on the office overview next to the roster, and the hours flow into the same approval and export process as hours recorded in the app. The kiosk is included in the Core plan.
