Overtime calculator
Split hours into regular time and overtime per week or per day, with pay at 1.5x or 2x.
Minutes to decimal
Convert h:mm to decimal hours and back, with a printable 1 to 60 minute chart.
Break and rest checker
Check a shift against Dutch and German minimum break and 11-hour daily rest rules.
Which calculator do you need?
Each tool answers one question that comes up again and again when hours turn into pay. Pick the one that matches the job in front of you; they work well together, and none of them asks for an account or an email address.
- Hours calculator: add up start times, end times and breaks for a day, a week or a full 14-day bi-weekly pay period, and get the total in hours and minutes and in decimal hours.
- Overtime calculator: split a week into regular and overtime hours against your own threshold, and see what the overtime multiplier means for gross pay.
- Minutes to decimal: convert 7 h 45 min into 7.75 for payroll or invoicing, with a printable conversion chart for the office wall or the site cabin.
- Break rules checker: check a shift against the statutory break rules in the Netherlands and Germany, and see which minimum break the length of the shift calls for.
A typical workflow: from a paper timesheet to payroll
Say a crew member hands in a paper timesheet for a two-week period. Start with the hours calculator in 14-day bi-weekly mode and enter each day's start, end and break. You get a per-day total and a period total, in both clock format and decimal hours.
Next, run the week totals through the overtime calculator to see how many hours fall above your contract or collective agreement threshold. If your payroll provider wants decimal hours, the minutes-to-decimal chart removes the most common error in manual payroll: typing 7.45 when you mean 7 hours and 45 minutes, which is really 7.75.
Finally, if shifts are long, the break rules checker shows whether the breaks taken meet the legal minimum. That matters for compliance, and it is often the first thing an inspector or a client asks about.
Private by design, and honest about limits
All four tools run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server or stored by us, so you can use them with real names and real hours. Close the tab and the data is gone.
The break rules checker summarises the general statutory rules. Collective agreements, sector rules and individual contracts can be stricter, so treat the result as a first check, not legal advice. The same goes for overtime: the threshold and multiplier you enter are yours to set, because they differ by country, sector and contract.
When calculators stop being enough
Calculators are perfect for a one-off check. When you are doing the same sums every week for a whole team, it is time to let software do them. TimeTracking captures hours on the phone, applies breaks, flags conflicts and exports totals straight to payroll, so nobody types times into a calculator at all. It is free for up to 5 users, with no credit card needed.
