Predictive time tracking
Most people do not forget to work. They forget to log it. Predictive time tracking turns timesheets into a quick check: the app proposes what someone probably worked, and they confirm or adjust it in one tap.
How predictive time tracking works
Signals come in
TimeTracking looks at the published roster, what the employee logged on the same day last week and their usual pattern over recent weeks. Calendar sync with Google Calendar and Outlook is planned as an extra signal.
A proposal is built
From those signals the app drafts a day: start, end, break and the placement, project or site it belongs to. Nothing is saved as worked time yet.
The employee confirms
The next time they open the app they see "This is what you probably worked. Correct?" One tap confirms. Adjust opens the entry with the proposal pre-filled.
Why prediction beats a blank timesheet
A blank weekly timesheet asks people to reconstruct five days from memory on a Friday afternoon. The result is rounded numbers, missing breaks and late submissions that hold up payroll.
A proposal flips the job around. Instead of typing, the employee only has to recognise their own day. For shift-based teams with a roster, most days match the plan, so confirming takes seconds. When a day was different, they correct the one field that changed.
The employee stays in control
Predicted hours are never booked silently. Every proposal needs an explicit confirmation from the person who worked it, and the entry records that it started as a prediction. Managers can see which hours were confirmed as proposed and which were adjusted.
Predictions do not use location. TimeTracking does not take screenshots, record keystrokes or build a location trail; the proposal is based only on the roster and on hours the employee entered before.
- Explicit confirm or adjust for every predicted day
- Source of each entry kept in the audit trail
- Based on the roster and past entries, no location needed
Where it helps most
Prediction shines wherever work follows a plan: rostered shifts in logistics and cleaning, recurring placements at staffing clients, crews scheduled on construction sites, and anyone whose week looks much like the one before.
It pairs naturally with the reminders for missing hours, which bring people back to the app to confirm, and with client approval, which turns confirmed hours into an approved week without chasing anyone.
Getting started with predictions
Predictions get useful quickly when there is a plan to work from. Teams that publish rosters in TimeTracking get sensible proposals from the first day. Teams without rosters start with timers or manual entry; after a few weeks of entries, last week's hours and recurring patterns such as the same site every Tuesday begin to show up in the proposals.
Coming later: calendar sync with Google Calendar and Outlook, so meetings and appointments can feed proposals for teams whose day lives in a calendar. Until then, rosters and history drive every prediction.
- Day one: the published roster drives proposals
- After a week: last week's hours as a starting point
- Coming soon: Google Calendar and Outlook sync
Frequently asked questions
Does predictive time tracking log hours automatically?
No. The app only proposes hours. Nothing counts as worked time until the employee confirms the proposal or saves an adjusted version.
What does the prediction use?
The published roster, the employee's hours from last week and their usual pattern over recent weeks. Calendar sync with Google Calendar and Outlook is planned but not available yet.
Which plan includes predictive time tracking?
Predictive time tracking is part of the Pro plan at €3 per user per month. Manual entry, timers and approvals are available on Free and Core.
Can employees switch it off?
Employees can always ignore a proposal and enter hours manually. Predictions never use location.
