Timesheet software and timesheet app for teams
A timesheet is only useful once it is complete, approved and in payroll. TimeTracking is online timesheet software that covers the whole route: employees record hours in a timesheet app on their phone or in the browser, managers and clients approve them, and the office exports a clean period without retyping anything.
TimeTracking (timetracking.tech) is a B2B time tracking app for iOS, Android and web for shift, field and staffing teams. Free up to 5 users; Core €1 and Pro €3 per user per month.
What good timesheet software should do
Spreadsheets and paper forms fail in predictable ways. Hours are filled in from memory at the end of the week, breaks go missing, totals are added up by hand and the sheet travels by email until someone loses track of which version is final.
Timesheet software fixes this by keeping one record per day, per person, from the moment the hours are entered. The totals calculate themselves, every change is logged and everyone looks at the same week. The test of a good tool is simple: does it save the office time on Monday morning, or does it just move the spreadsheet online?
- Hours captured on the day, not reconstructed on Friday
- Breaks, overtime and overnight shifts calculated consistently
- One version of the week, with a history of every change
- Approved periods that go straight to payroll
An online timesheet that works on every device
TimeTracking runs as a native app on iOS and Android and as a web app in any modern browser. Field staff log hours on their phone between jobs, office staff use a laptop, and a shared tablet can act as a kiosk where people clock in with a personal PIN.
The app is available in 20 languages, which matters for teams where not everyone reads English or Dutch comfortably. Each person sees the same timesheet in their own language, so fewer entries need correcting later.
Fewer blank timesheets with predictive entries
The hardest part of any timesheet app is getting people to fill it in. On the Pro plan, predictive time tracking proposes what someone probably worked, based on their roster, last week's hours and their usual pattern. Calendar sync is coming soon. They confirm it in one tap or adjust the one field that was different.
Nothing is booked without a confirmation from the person who worked the hours. The proposal simply replaces a blank form with a draft that is usually right, which is why weekly timesheets tend to arrive on time instead of days late.
Approval without chasing anyone
Once hours are in, someone has to sign them off. Internal approvals happen in the web app. When a client has to approve the hours, which is common in staffing and consultancy work, TimeTracking sends a secure magic link. The client opens the week, checks it and signs with a code sent to their email address. They never need an account.
If the client keeps their own records, the hours can be compared before anything goes out. Conflict detection highlights where the app and the client disagree, so you settle a difference of half an hour before it turns into an invoice dispute.
From approved timesheet to payroll
An approved period can be exported as CSV, XLSX or JSON on every plan. Paid plans add configurable payroll exports, so the file matches the column layout your payroll provider or accountant expects. An SD Worx-format preset is available as a concept, and presets for Loket, Nmbrs, AFAS and DATEV are coming.
For teams that want to build their own flows, there is a REST API with an OpenAPI description, webhooks and a command-line tool. Paper or Excel timesheets from clients can be read by the AI timesheet parser on paid plans, so the office stops retyping them.
Simple pricing for a timesheet app
Teams of up to five people can use TimeTracking for free, including the mobile and web apps and exports. Larger teams pay €1 per user per month on Core or €3 per user per month on Pro. There are no add-ons and no seat minimum, so a team of eight pays for eight people.
Hosting is in the EU, in Ireland, and the app does not take screenshots or record keystrokes. Timesheets record hours, not behaviour.
Frequently asked questions
What is timesheet software?
Timesheet software records the hours people work, per day and per project, client or site, and turns them into approved periods for payroll or invoicing. It replaces paper forms and spreadsheets with one shared record.
Is there a timesheet app for iPhone and Android?
Yes. TimeTracking has native apps for iOS and Android and a web app for the browser. All three use the same account and the same timesheets.
Can clients approve timesheets without an account?
Yes, on paid plans. Clients receive a secure magic link, review the hours and sign with a code sent to their email. No login or password is needed.
Which export formats are supported?
Every plan can export CSV, XLSX and JSON. Paid plans add configurable payroll exports and an open API for connecting other systems.
Can I import paper or Excel timesheets?
On paid plans, the AI timesheet parser reads Excel files, email text and photos of paper timesheets and turns them into structured hours for review.
How much does the timesheet software cost?
It is free for up to five users. Beyond that, Core costs €1 and Pro €3 per user per month, with no add-ons and no seat minimum.
