A mobile timer that keeps running

On a building site or a warehouse floor, a timer has to be reliable before it can be clever. The TimeTracking app keeps the clock running when the app is closed or the phone restarts, and keeps hours safe when there is no signal. Lock screen controls and widgets are coming soon.

Animated demo: a mobile timer that keeps running through a phone restart, a preview of the coming lock screen timer, and hours queued offline. Start once, Survives a restart, Lock screen, Offline queue.

How the mobile timer works

  1. Start once

Start the clock in the iOS or Android app, or clock in at a shared kiosk tablet with a 6-digit PIN.

  2. It keeps running

The timer survives closing the app and restarting the phone. When you open the app again, the running time is still there.

  3. Sent when back online

Hours recorded without a connection are queued on the phone and sent automatically as soon as it is back online.

Mobile apps for iOS and Android

The mobile apps are built with Expo for iOS and Android and are not yet in the App Store or Google Play. They cover the timer, manual entry and expenses with a receipt photo.

Coming soon: a timer on the lock screen. On iPhone that means a Live Activity and the Dynamic Island, on Android an ongoing notification with pause and stop, plus home and lock screen widgets and smartwatch support. These need native modules that are not built yet, so they are not available today.

  • Live: timer that survives app restarts
  • Live: offline queue for hours
  • Coming soon: lock screen timer, Live Activities and Dynamic Island
  • Coming soon: widgets and smartwatch

Designed for work gloves and bright sun

Controls in the app are large, high-contrast and placed away from screen edges. Text stays readable outdoors and supports the phone's own text size settings.

Each person uses the app in their own language, with 20 languages to choose from.

Honest hours start with a reliable clock

A timer that resets when the app crashes, or hours that disappear without signal, lead to days that need correcting before payroll. A clock that survives restarts and an offline queue keep hours accurate at the source.

When hours are still missing, an email reminder brings people back to the app, where the day is already proposed from the roster or last week.

What the office sees

Hours from the app arrive in the same period as hours from the web and the kiosk, ready for approval. Overlapping or unlikely entries, such as the same shift entered twice or a 20-hour day, are flagged by conflict detection before approval.

Entries recorded offline keep the time they were made, so a site without signal does not turn into a day typed in from memory later.

  • Mobile, web and kiosk hours in one period
  • Conflict detection before approval
  • Offline entries keep their original time
