Warehouses and distribution centres run on shifts, often around the clock, with permanent staff and flex workers side by side. TimeTracking keeps planned and worked hours together, so payroll is based on what really happened.

## How logistics teams use TimeTracking

1. **Publish the roster**: Plan shifts with templates and publish them, so every worker sees their shifts in the app.
2. **Clock in at the kiosk or confirm in the app**: Workers clock in at a tablet by the entrance, or confirm their predicted hours in the app with one tap.
3. **Compare and export**: Planned versus worked hours are visible per shift and team. Approved hours go to payroll.

## Shifts and night work

Night shifts that cross midnight are handled as one shift, not split into two days, and breaks are recorded explicitly. Rosters with templates and recurring patterns make it easy to plan a 24/7 operation, and open shifts can be filled by available workers.

Because the roster is the baseline, predictive time tracking can propose each worker's hours. When a shift ran as planned, confirming takes one tap.

- Overnight shifts across midnight
- Shift templates and recurring patterns
- Open shifts and swaps
- Planned versus worked per shift

## Kiosk at the entrance

Many warehouses don't allow phones on the floor. A tablet kiosk at the entrance lets workers clock in and out with a personal 6-digit PIN. After 5 wrong PINs the tablet locks for 15 minutes, which discourages buddy punching without photos or face recognition.

## Permanent staff and flex workers together

Logistics often mixes employees and agency workers. TimeTracking supports both, with apps in 20 languages so international workers can use their own. If you work with staffing agencies, approved hours can be shared with them, or the agency can approve through a client magic link.

Payroll exports are available as SD Worx-format and configurable CSV/XLSX files today, with more connectors coming soon.

## Peak season without the paperwork

Peak periods bring extra shifts and many new temporary workers who need to start tracking on their first day. New workers can be invited by SMS and log in with a one-time code, choose their own language and see their shifts straight away. There is no account setup or training session needed before the first clock-in.

When peak season ends, people are simply deactivated. Their hours, approvals and exports stay in the history, and you only pay for active users.
